Promoting Our Conference Theme

FROM LABORATORY RESEARCH TO CLINICAL REALITY

Biomedical research is a key force for change in the world today. This research has important economic and social implications that will affect our children, grandchildren and future generations.

In this regard, the Ohio Valley Society of Plastic Surgeons is privileged to draw its members from prominent academic institutions and private practices in Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, Western Virginia, Kentucky and Indiana.

There are few laboratories worldwide whose cutting edge research is as productive and influential as those within the institutions in these 5 states.

Our theme: From Laboratory Research to Clinical Reality was chosen to honor the contributions of the skilled Basic Science and Clinical Members of OVSPS and their affiliated institutions.

It is not surprising, therefore, that we have had a record number of abstracts submitted this year. With the superior quality of the abstracts and the limited number of presentations, we propose to highlight the scientific endeavors of some of our Residents and Fellows with the option to display their research as Posters.

Please join us for the 53rd Annual Meeting of the OVSPS and support the importance of the Laboratory Research, when applied to Clinical Reality, as the ideal source for best practice protocols.

We look forward to welcoming you to Cleveland soon.Yours sincerely,

Bryan

Bryan J. Michelow, M.D., F.A.C.S.
OVSPS President 2010:

On behalf of the Program Committee and myself, I would like to invite you to join us for our exciting and educational conference in Cleveland.

The 53rd Annual Conference of the OVSPS will be held in Cleveland from May 14th to May 16th, 2010 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. The Great Lakes Science Center will provide an appealing setting for the entertainment on Saturday night.
,

Our Institution: The Ohio Valley Society of Plastic Surgeons (OVSPS) includes members practicing Plastic Surgery in the States of Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and the western part of Pennsylvania. Active members have obtained Board Certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. or its Canadian equivalent.

Our Mission: To promote innovative technology regarding the art and science of plastic and reconstructive surgery. The target audience includes physicians, residents and allied healthcare personnel in and around the Ohio Valley region. Our goal will be achieved via didactic lectures, anel discussions and resident presentations.
Our Qualifications: Each year, the conference has been enthusiastically attended by Plastic Surgeons, Nurses, Researchers and Guests who have an interest in Plastic Surgery. Attendees voluntarily complete evaluations of each conference and these appraisals provided essential guidelines for planning succeeding conferences. Prior reviews confirm that the OVSPS annual
meeting is an effective venue for imparting knowledge and information to the attendees.

This year we will host the 53rd annual conference of the OVSPS. We are confident that OVSPS is well qualified to arrange this highly educational event.
We would like to invite you to join us for our exciting conference from May 14th to 16th, 2010 and we look forward to welcoming you to Cleveland.
